Rowan Woodhouse

Founder

Rowan's work focuses on helping people regulate their nervous systems, reconnect with their bodies, and develop a healthier, more supportive relationship with their breath. He offers both practical breathing techniques for everyday life and health and guided breathwork sessions for relaxation and nervous system regulation through to deep work for emotional and somatic release.

He works in a way that is calm, grounded, and carefully paced. Sessions are not about pushing limits or forcing release, but about creating the conditions for the body and nervous system to heal or release as is needed and appropriate.

Approach

Breathwork is a powerful way to influence how we feel, think, and relate to stress — but it works best when it is approached with respect and sensitivity.

Rowan’s sessions combine:

  • nervous system regulation

  • embodied awareness

  • carefully chosen and paced breathing practices

  • guided breath journeys (when suitable)

All practices are invitational and adapted to the individual or group. The emphasis is on safety, choice, and listening to the body, rather than chasing intense experiences.

Breathwork can support:

  • stress and anxiety regulation

  • improved sleep and focus

  • emotional resilience

  • recovery from burnout

  • greater body awareness and presence

Experience & Training

Through Tai Chi and Qigong Rowan has been working with the breath for over 20 years and taught others Tai Chi in his 20s. Since discovering breathwork as its own modality in 2018 he has practiced, studied and experimented with breathwork and breathing techniques, from the purely functional, through self regulation through to deep inner journeys.

As part of this discovery Rowan trained and studied with Hale in Stockholm for 3 years culminating in becoming a Level 3 breath guide and breath guide trainer.

Rowan continues to deepen his knowledge of breathwork through reading, research and practice.

Rowan’s work is informed by both contemporary understandings of the nervous system and long-standing contemplative and somatic practices.
